Stone fountain

This fountain, in the classical French style, consists of an octagonal basin made of natural stone, constructed from separate segments with a rounded, moulded rim and a weighted plinth. In the centre stands a square column with bevelled corners, crowned by a generous, moulded capstone. Two curved metal spouts protrude from the column, each fitted with wrought-iron rings. Iron bars span the basin, upon which buckets or jugs can be placed – a typical feature of traditional village fountains.
